Sensational diving opportunities abound, including the famous Cod Hole and the island is only a 50-minute boat ride to the legendary Outer Great Barrier Reef. The Ribbon Reefs near Lizard Island are also renowned for some of the best big game fishing in the world.

Snorkellers are rewarded for little effort with coral gardens, brightly coloured tropical fish and giant clams just moments from the island's beaches. Discover secluded, pristine beaches by foot or by motorised dinghy with a gourmet picnic just for two.

Accommodation

Lizard Island offers a selection of elegant holiday accommodation, seemingly blending indoors and out in an open plan design each with ocean or beach views.

Accommodation is superbly relaxed with attention to detail:
40 rooms all featuring air conditioning, bath robes, hairdryer, direct dial ISD/ STD telephone, internet access, ceiling fans, tea & coffee making facilities, mini bar, CD player, iron & ironing board, laundry service, beach towels & umbrellas, evening turndown service.

Anchor Bay Rooms: 6 rooms located in tropical gardens with views across Anchor Bay. Rooms feature either a King Bed or two Double Beds. 2 Family rooms available with one King Bed and two Single Beds in 2 separate rooms. Ensuite with shower and toilet Private balcony

Sunset Point Villas: 15 stylish elevated Villas, located cliffside along Sunset Ridge with exceptional views over Anchor Bay or Sunset Beach. Spacious covered deck Villas feature one King Bed or one King Zip Bed and a sofa bed. Ensuite with shower and toilet. Private verandah with squatters chairs.

Anchor Bay Suites: 18 open plan suites located beachside with direct access to Anchor Bay and spectacular views out to the Coral Sea. Suites feature either a King Bed or two King Single Beds - some also have a double sofa bed. One room is disable assisted but does not offer full disabled facilities. Ensuite with shower, toilet and private courtyard. Spacious verandah with daybed

The Pavilion:
Set on the point of Sunset Ridge, the Pavilion offers spectacular 270 degree panoramic views. An expansive decking area incorporates a private plunge pool, sun lounges and a daybed area. Champagne and a deluxe fruit bowl greet guests on arrival.

Activities

The scuba diving & snorkelling at Lizard Island is spectacular with magnificent coral reefs and countless tropical fish. 

What distinguishes Lizard Island from many other reef islands is its close proximity to the best known diving location in the Great Barrier Reef, Cod Hole where divers can come face to face with a massive yet curious Potato Cod.  On shore, discover secluded, pristine beaches by foot or motorised dinghy with a gourmet picnic just for two. 

Other activities for guests to enjoy include game fishing, bushwalking, sailing, glass bottom boat trips or treatments in the luxurious Azure Spa.

Dining

Dining is one of Lizard Island's many pleasures. Osprey's Restaurant embodies the resort's understated elegance. The menu, which changes daily, is fresh and creative, showcasing the finest local produce and freshest seafood. Osprey’s has an open verandah overlooking the beach and ocean in a relaxed and intimate setting.

The Azure Spa has been awarded runner up as the best spa 'Australasia & South Pacific' in the revered Conde' Nast Traveller Readers' Spa Awards 2007. Spa packages are available for a stay of 2 nights and over at additional cost. This includes a spa consultation and a 2 hour spa treatment as well as a bottle of Champagne on arrival.
