You don't have to be on a champagne budget to visit Port Douglas anymore.  

Port Douglas was a charming fishing village thirty years ago but has become one of Australia's most popular holiday destinations.   

As tourism has progressed Port Douglas now features at least four Backpacker hostels and some very low priced motels that have started to market to the Backpacker market.  We have a brand new Backpacker hostel called Global right in the heart of Macrossan St as well as Backpacker hostels located in quiet side streets such as Parrot Fish Lodge but still within easy walking distance to the central village.

Some hostels offer courtesy transfers from Cairns on certain days while others offer a total ECO experience.  Hostels often offer special deals in the Green season such as free breakfast.
